# Global Goals

I don't usually post twice in a day - ha I just about post twice a week! But this is important...

I am always looking for ways in which I can help change the world and recently I came across the amazing community/organisation that is Global Goals

"On September 25th 2015, 193 world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years. End extreme poverty. Fight inequality & injustice. Fix climate change. The Global Goals for sustainable development could get these things done. In all countries. For all people."

When I watched their 'We The People it brought me to tears.

"The UN Global Goals are a plan for people and planet. A plan that will shape all of our futures....The UN Global Goals for sustainable development are a plan for people and planet that we all have a stake in. The Goals relate to the most urgent issues of our time that affect everyone, everywhere."

They have 17 goals in total;
1. No Poverty
2. Zero Hunger
3. Good Health and Well-Being
4. Quality Education
5. Gender Equality
6. Clean Water and Sanitation
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth
9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
10. Reduced Inequalities
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Climate Action
14. Life Below Water
15. Life on Land
16. Peace and Justice Strong Institutions
17.  Partnerships for the Goals

At the moment they are trying to get themselves known, in order for such great changes to be successful, more people need to know about them! To help, you can take a Global Goals selfie with the number of the goal that means the most to you, and share it on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You could also take part in the Dizzy Goals challenge or record your 'We the People' video, joining the worlds biggest cast and telling everyone about the future you want. Just tell anyone and everyone! Get the message out there, together we can change the world for the better!

Global Citizen, a partner of Global Goals, is another platform you can use to help take action for change. Sign up and earn reward points for signing various petitions, emailing prime ministers and they also give you tips on various other ways you can get involved in this awesome campaign. Your reward points can be used to enter giveaways and prize draws!

#LightTheWay events are happening all over the world this Thursday September 24th too with action/2015, a coalition of 2020 organisations from around the world with a common goal; to combat poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030! This global event is free to attend, you can find your nearest event here - be sure to reserve your free ticket, and will consist of each attendee holding an illuminated star to form a constellation of hope, to get world leaders listening and striving for change. After the photo shoot, there will be a variety of speakers, performers and special guests on stage.

This feels like such a huge and very exciting step to tackling these issues once and for all!
