January's Link| I See Fire

Thanks to another idea filled shower, I have decided to start a new series this year where I share a particularly amazing link I've been loving, maybe for a video, song or article, each month!

This month is a song| Ed Sheeran - I See Fire (Kygo Remix)

You know on New Years Eve, you're at that certain point where you can see all your hopes and dreams for the future laid out in front of you, an infinite stream of possibilities at your fingertips and you can feel the lessons of your past, all that your experiences have taught you pushing you towards them. Freshly motivated you sit peacefully (or you party hard, lets be honest), fully content with where you are, really savouring the moment. Yeah? Well, I suppose that might be a bit dramatic or overly detailed but its hard to describe feelings like this. Anyway, that is pretty much a sense of how I felt when I heard this song. That is what it did to me - put everything in perspective and threw me into the present. I may have been having a stressful day when I heard it, which is why the effects were so '!!!' - maybe it was a song I really needed to hear or a feeling I really needed to remember.

I can't remember how I found it, I only just heard it last November but it was actually released a couple of years ago, maybe it was a Youtube suggestion? But anyway, it's just soo chiiiiill! So smooth and relaxing. It was on repeat for a while and has a strong hold as my current favourite song.

I actually heard it while I was in Port Blair last month as well. I was feeling a little overwhelmed with everything, but y'know how music pretty much heals everything? Well they started playing some awesome music at the hotel that evening so I went out in my pyjamas, into the corridor which was basically a long balcony that overlooked the pool and bar. THEN IT CAME ON.
And I, with the moon bright up overhead and a (very) welcome gentle jungle breeze, just stood there, closed my eyes and listened.
The power of music amazes me.

  1. I haven't heard this one before, but I like Firestone by Kygo! It's pretty cool how music can make you feel so many different things, sometimes when I'm walking down the street, it's like I'm in a music video ahaha
